Occupational Therapy

Rose Cottage Independent Pre-School offers both Fine-Motor and Gross-Motor Enrichment Groups to all its learners to support their overall development. The children know the Fine-Motor Groups as “Finger Work” and rightfully so as they focus on strengthening the little muscles in their little hands with fun action songs, playdough play, creative cutting, age-appropriate arts and crafts. The Gross-Motor Groups are fondly known as “Body Work” by all the children who thoroughly enjoy strengthening their big body muscles with fun warm-ups, obstacle courses, animal walks, playful exercises and stretches, as well as physically active games such as musical statues.

All the children at Rose Cottage Independent Pre-School are screened at the beginning of the year to gauge their baselines of functioning. They are then screened again at the end of the third term to evaluate their growth. Should any concerns arise from these bi-annual screenings, feedback and recommendations are shared in the Parent-Teacher meetings.

The in-house Occupational Therapist (OT) also offers private sessions for children who require regular OT intervention to support their overall progress. While  this is conveniently available onsite, children who attend Rose Cottage Independent Pre-School are by no means obligated to seek its in-house OT services as there are other paediatric practices in the area. Either way, the whole team at Rose Cottage will work together to facilitate your child’s optimal journey towards their full potential!
  • Age Group: 3 to 12 year old kids
  • Class Size: one-on-one
  • Session Timing: 30-45 minutes
